Setting Goals That Work PDF Print E-mail
It is very important to set goals for yourself and then work towards them. Working towards a goal directs your energy in the right direction and gives you the satisfaction that we all crave to get from our work. To set up goals that work, it is important that we work towards them and achieve them.
  • Factors of achieving the goal: The first step towards achieving your goal would be to write down all that you would need to do to accomplish your goal. Your ultimate objective would be a composition of all these components.
  • Organize yourself: Make a diary to set small daily goals, which move you ahead in the direction of your ultimate goal. The satisfaction, you will attain at the end of the day, by ticking off what you had aspired to complete, will motivate you to do better the next day.
  • Be focused: Give 100% attention, time and energy to what you are doing, until you are able to achieve the goal. Do not switch on to the next task without completing the previous one.
  • Set priorities: First do things, which are more complicated and time consuming. This way, you can stretch their duration, in case there are any obstacles. You can do the less important and simpler things later. It is very important to prioritize your work. This gives you an edge over others.
  • Increase productivity: Better management of time would help you in increasing your productivity. You can increase the quality of your work and amount of work you do within the same amount of time. This is what we call ‘better productivity.’
  • Learn from your mistakes: Learning from your own mistakes and experiences of other successful people would help you to achieve your goals. Never hesitate to accept your mistakes and gracefully adopt positive qualities from other successful people.

You will see that by following these steps, you will be able to achieve the goals you have set for yourself.
