However, you should make the affirmations in the present tense, which will give you a sense of willingness and urgency to achieve your objective and not in the future tense which will indicate that you are not yet ready. The affirmations can be along these lines: “My body is becoming healthier, slimmer, and stronger every day,” or ‘I am losing weight,” or “Losing weight is simple and effortless.” An easy way of keeping in constant touch with such affirmations is to write two such sentences and stick them on your refrigerator or bathroom mirror. Keep reading them every morning and night, affirming that you are adhering to your plan. Fighting the Negative Thoughts If you ever feel that negative thoughts and messages are flashing across your mind you should make a mark on a piece of paper and at night you should count those marks and write down what you told yourself when those negative thoughts have arisen. You will be able to build up a more realistic message by doing so. If you are serious about losing weight, you need a compelling force within to do so. You must make up your mind to be able to have the determination to change your lifestyle. Steps for Achieving Success The basic requirements for achieving success are desire, belief, and motivation. 1. Desire: You must be sure that your desire is strong enough to make you ready for sacrifice, undergo some changes, and change your lifestyle. You must find out whether you have the commitment to move ahead and achieve your goal. You also have to understand and think about the circumstances under which you might give up your plan. Your conviction should be such that you would never give up your plan to lose weight, come what may. In order to make your desire stronger you should write down the reasons for losing weight. You should have at least 15 reasons and the more reasons you can find the greater will be your desire. 2. Belief: If you believe that you can do so, you will definitely reach your destination.
