When You Don’t Feel Like Getting Out Of Bed PDF Print E-mail

We have all had those morning when the warmth of the bed is just to hard to resist and you press the snooze button a few times. You struggle to convince yourself of why need to get out of bed for work only to realize you are now running late and the rest of the morning is a blur as you scramble through your morning routine at twice the pace you normally would.

If you have this on the rare occasion then that’s to be expected but if you feel like this is happening more often than you would care to acknowledge then here are a few tips to help you get motivated in the morning.

1. Get a big enough reason. We all know those times in our lives when we are just so excited about something that we couldn’t get to sleep and we couldn’t get up early enough the next day to get back to it. It’s almost like you didn’t need sleep. If you can give yourself a big enough reason to get up in the morning you will find that it just takes over and getting out of bed doesn’t seem all that difficult at all. If you aren’t exactly inspired by your job then get a reason why you need to work. Maybe it’s the dream holiday that you are saving up for, the deposit you are looking to put on your home or maybe it’s something that you wanted to do. Whatever it is you need to keep that at the forefront of your mind and get excited about it.

2. Change your environment. If you find it difficult to get out of bed in the morning and find yourself pressing the snooze then move your alarm clock to a different location. A good place to put it is on the other side of the room. By the time you get yourself out of bed to turn the alarm off you are already on the other side of the room and you might as well just start your day. Put a lamp close to your bed and as soon as the alarm goes off get into the habit of turning on the lamp that is shining straight at you. Light and sleep are two incongruent things.

3. Get a good nights rest. If you give yourself enough opportunity to get a decent nights sleep then you won’t feel the need as much to try and spend more of it in the morning after the alarm has sounded. A typical adult would need around 6-8 hours sleep nightly. If you currently aren’t getting this much then try to arrange a few things in your schedule and put rest on the top of your priority. After all if you are well rested your productivity will improve also.

Getting motivated to get your day going each morning can be a real battle for some people. Sometimes once the bad habit has had a chance to set hold you often find your days starting out this way. By starting your day in a more positive and upbeat note you will actually find that your days are more pleasant and productive. This all starts by creating a good wake up habit to start your day on a good note.

Affirmations have long been recognized as a powerful tool in manifesting desires. That's because the subconscious mind cannot differentiate between actual reality and suggestions. Therefore, it processes suggestions (or affirmations) as being real -- and goes about using its powerful creative ability -- and that of the nervous system -- to actualize those affirmations.
